Protect storage groups using PowerProtect Storage Direct

PowerProtect Storage Direct integrates the primary storage on storage systems and the protection storage on the Data Domain system.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select STORAGE > Storage Groups.
  3. Select the storage group and click Protect.
  4. On the Select Technology page, select Backup using PowerProtect Storage Direct.
  5. Click NEXT.
  6. Enter a value for the Point in Time Copy Name.
  7. Click NEXT.
  8. Select one or more LUNS to be added to the backup storage group and click Add to Storage Group.
  9. Click NEXT.
  10. Select one or more LUNS to be added to the restore storage group and click Add to Storage Group.
  11. Click NEXT.
  12. On the review page, verify your selections. To change any of them, click BACK. Some changes may require you to make extra changes to your configuration.
  13. Do one of the following:
    • Click Run Now to perform the operation now.
    • Expand Run Now and click Add to Job List to add this task to the job list, from which you can schedule or run the task at your convenience. For more information, see Schedule jobs and Preview jobs.
